Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever posted a u tube link on this site, but this one met me at a spiritual and biological level, being both Christian and reminiscent of my Native heritage.

I am 1/4 Ojibwa. My grandfather was a chief who signed the treaty in Michigan 1862. The Ojibwa were forced into reservations. My grandmother gave me and my sister 180 acres of free land. She told me. Never sale the land. It is virgin land on the Lake St. Superior where the wolves and bear roam. I pray we protect dear Mother Nature dear Kimberly. We need her, more than she need us.

Ah yes… I was left no acreage.. but what we have, we care for… ever since I was a little girl , when things were very hard at home, I would escape to a patch of wild mustard and hide… I felt that they and the the trees loved me.. i felt safe… they comforted me.. i have painted trees on the walls in my home because they are so close to my heart … unlike you I did not grow up knowing who I was.. was told I was Hungarian.. but I wasn’t.. several tribes live within me.. and yet.. I think some of these longings .. to constantly be outside… are the ancestors within my bones… teaching me
Just out of curiosity John, although I grew up around white values, I was never able to care very much about money.. saving it.. although my white family and husband did.. it just didn’t seem to be what life is about.. are you like this?

I have five grandchildren now and I am 66 years old. I still work to help the family. I raised-up four beautiful and strong children. I work to keep my family safe and secure. Money isn’t what we need. We need a healthy family and love near dear Kimberly. If you have time. Please check out a new poem. “We need barefoot dreams.'” You may like. You were my muse.
