A snapshot of our beloved Meadow Arc moving towards winter …

Wild oats to be used for mulch in foreground…

Pollinator supporting oregano which was dried and put into a quart jar for the winter:)

Medicinal and delicious Yellow Dock peeping out here and there. A couple years back Stephanie harvested these roots so that I could make a tea which I am quite fond of:) It’s fun to live here. When something is in our path we often are able to eat it.. I have also fermented this dock with cabbage to make curtido:)

Warnsy ( our pear tree) is looking tired.. time for her to go to sleep for the winter soon.

Hummingbird supporting pineapple sage looking all cheeky and ready for the holidays. When one brushes by her she releases an intoxicating pineapple fragrance. Have dried but not yet jarred up some of her leaves for tea.

Evergreen lavender, which, being one of our favorites, seems to have gotten it into her head to crowd out our little seating area that we call, The Pavilion. ( Joke: we’re actually very thankful for her.. she was one of our rescue plants that really looked like she wasn’t going to make it.. but the Lord answered our prayer that because she was struggling the most.. that she would be our largest and healthiest plant of all. And she is!)

Ground bee feeding Rosemary .. one place that is often still buzzing with life on our colder days.

Hoping that this year, like last, we will be blessed with Miner’s lettuce which often grows everywhere in the winter… very fun to use as a garnish ( and/ or mini salad) as well as other odds and ends we find growing wild:)
