carelessly onto

Marigold’s lap

and a young soldier 

stares up

at her…his eyes 

as wide as a puckered kiss… and it’s as though he is waiting…

…waiting….waiting…

…waiting for…

… dying… for 

…..for someone …his lips 

as red as
