like raindrops,

dive 

like rainbow colored mermaids

looking 

for sweet amniotic seas

fall

through angry protester’s hands 

carrying 

umbrellas and “We have the right to 

choose

drought” posters …

softly

 like bits of electricity

while the world

microwaves

 its “good” intentions

and pours itself a Bloody Mary 

the sky

grows 

pregnant with soggy foggy 

mermaid tears
