Wind blown kisses

As clouds giggle

in their dimple faced ways,

the toes of rippling leaves

skip in merriment

down the street

and ‘ round ’bout the pond

to spy on

soft autumn breezes

as they blow from tree to tree,

one moment…

 silky as a ballerina’s slipper,

shy and still and hidden in autumn colored loveliness,

the next,

pirouetting out of their hidden places

blowing kisses

to a small boy

who sends a toy boat

afloat

unsure of what just happened
