Vulnerable 


my soul flew away

on a long winded breath,

got caught 

in a tangle of words 

over there,

in the tip top of the windy tree

and now i’m

watching…

waiting …

for her to

retrace 

her path,

perch on my finger

and once again rest within the quiet quilting

of my breath…

My name is Kimberly Vargas Agnese, though I've previously written as Kae Bucher. I was born in the Florida Keys, but grew up in the Bay Area before migrating south to the San Joaquin Valley. As I ride barefoot around Fresno, I consider the paths I've chosen and the crossroads where our country seems to have perched itself. Thanks to my Romani ancestry, many people groups reside within me and my poetry tends to reflect this. I love welcoming the sunrise with my Native American flute. I've been rumored to juggle while teaching students how to write. And if you can't find me, I'm probably hanging out with Jesus listening to parables.

    • You are very kind to say so.. thank you! A year ago I left a very hostile work environment … and I felt the Lord calling me to write… So I pray a great deal … and stuff comes to mind… my daughter nd I are on an unknown path… it is very challenging… we often find ourself broken and strewn along it… but He gives us seashells to find… too
