Glissade

Mary peeks through a burning bush

and tiptoes through dead nettles and ferns

until the tips of her slippers disappear

en pointe

amidst coneflowers which guard the crown of the hill,

unclasping a cherub’s whisper from the locket around her neck,

in satin ribbons she arabesques down a switch grass slope

around snow berries and lilacs…

angel’s trumpets taste her ankles as she glissades through wild flowers

…………………………………………………………….

Glissade:

to slide down a hill

Or

a dance step

  1. arabesque – what a beautiful word to describe ballet. It’s amazing how our body can perform such art and many waste it by just sitting on a couch eating crisps (potato chips). 🙂
