i want you to know i kept
your letters about
stork eggs ….when
you flew to
heaven …
i know
where you left your bumblebee whistle
and honey nest kipfels.
i still visit our for girl’s only girl forts gingerbread castles in your cursive princess letters from yesterday’s mail
and I look forward to that Easter when your great granddaughters and I will dip stork egg songs in sweet Sephardic tea and smile at you over angel cakes
til that Easter,
we hold you in the cursive of our hearts
as always,
your princess,
Kae
This is such a lovely poetic tribute and memory! It reminds me of my own grandmother who has long since graduated to heaven! Thank you. ❤
