~ Many look for followers, but not all are equipped to lead~

For me, leadership is a sacred trust, whether in the classroom, or Word Press. Unfortunately , I have observed that we, as people, have traded the face of another for the numerical figure. Our obsession with imprisoning another within how many followers we have makes it difficult to see the color of another’s eyes… wonderful.. eyes which reflect forest floors filled with unfurling fronds, and sky’s showering feathers… No matter the color.. there we are.. a world within ourselves, unable to bend the bars of the number assigned to us.. longing to be seen .

What do you think? Has our love grown cold?

  1. “Has our love grown cold?” I pray not. For love, for me, is less a noun, descriptive of something (some thing; some imagined state of being), and more an active verb, portending one’s choice to become…to be benevolent toward another (indeed, toward all). Therefore, love bears warmth, indeed, the fire of kindly intention turned into action.

I imagine a crackling within our ribs..a kindling somewhere along the beach…the aroma of fish.. the song of the Master preparing breakfast

    • Good morning Edward,

Seems like in past years the emphasis on promoting oneself has increased..and technology has given each of us the ability to establish platforms whether proven or not. Couple that with an ever growing sense of isolation, and the hunger for popularity rushes in as an antidote. I don’t think any of us is immune to this, ( myself included). But I also believe that the world still needs good leadership, and that it is important to discern in both ourselves and the platform presented, whether or not it is self or societally serving… because not all can be heard at once, and sometimes the voice of community, of compassion, of love , of connection, of true conversation can be drowned out …

      • You’re absolutely right. Part of the issue is that social media platforms and influencers dominate our daily lives, offering a lifestyle that isn’t really real. I think blogging is a great way to share our voices, but nothing beats face-to-face interactions.
