~ Justice is a flying star rebuking midnight, a ruby throated hummingbird kissing morning glories at sunrise~

While many agree that justice is important , our interpretations about what it actually looks like, differs doesn’t it?

  1. Absolutely, Kimberly. The application of justice is hard sometimes. I had the privilege of commanding an Army unit, and with that came the duty of administering military justice to soldiers who violated Army policy. The Uniform Code of Military Justice provides parameters for commanders and military judges to examine violations and apply punishment if required. I always examined the totality of the incident and the soldier. Sometimes the punishment included forfeiture of salary, but in cases where the soldier had a family, I took that into consideration and did not forfeit the salary to avoid punishing the family financially. Regardless of the type of justice we want to pursue (law enforcement, social, etc.), the need to assess the entirety of the situation is extremely important.
