I am a Christian who is loved by Jesus. I believe in love.
And I believe that there is a difference between love
and license to harm.
I believe in boundaries.
And will enforce them when called to.
I am soft.
But my environment has been tough.
I have comforted the homeless in my arms. I have hit a neighbor’s pit bull in the face when he was trying to kill my little dogs.
I have stood up to an angry bipolar meth addict construction worker who was 100 pounds heavier than me whom I was foolish enough to become involved with. And when he put me on crutches. I stood up again.
And all you have to do is ask Stephanie how vicious I can become if ANYONE messes with my kids.. anyone’s kids.. I despise bullying
I have stood up for the vulnerable and lost jobs for it.
I don’t believe in a political movement, but the Kingdom of God.
I believe that God is long suffering and that
there is a time and a place,
to extend grace.. to enforce boundaries..
I believe in the widow’s mite, and the whip in the Messiahs hand
and I believe.. that He believes in me… and that although I am small, and not much in the eyes of the world..
that all of heaven backs me.. when others willingly and wrongfully attack me
This is one of the songs that helped me establish boundaries after years of domestic abuse…when I was on food stamps… when the only person who believed in me.. was Him.. it’s not explicitly Christian, it’s not particularly nice.. but He uses songs like this with me.. ( He meets us where we’re at.. and I grew up and am surrounded by rough) not necessarily word for word.. but the message.. the heartbeat.. therein…
Kiss this/Aaron Tippin
Kimberly,
I love this song. Gosh, I forgot all about it until now. “Kiss this, and I don’t mean on my rosy red lips”!!! I’m dying listening to this song.
You my friend, I’m honored to know you. You are a survior and you prove this to still be true. You’re not a victim, but the true definition of survival.
With Him, we can do anything.
Hugs to you my dear friend.

Hi Dawna:)
Lol! This is the first message I’m seeing and such a great one! Thank you for your kind words and I get such a huge kick out of knowing that you love this song too! If we lived closer to each other I could imagine us driving around in a convertible belting this out when we felt the need to assert our No!
Hugs:)
