18 years after I first suspected that she might be on the spectrum,
15 years after ( while in highschool) she burst into tears because I suggested the possibility,
9 years since she read a book with an autistic character who she found amazingly similar to herself,
we finally bit the bullet and decided that it was time to find out for sure.
Upon this discovery we have been gifted with access to a large supportive community, self help for Stephanie, and the right to request modifications for her.
This has been a long hard journey and we are delighted to finally be connected with similarly advantaged and disadvantaged people like herself.
One of the things I love that the psychologist did for her was point out how brave and resilient she has been to accomplish all that she has.. and I couldn’t agree more:)
As autistic individual with an IQ of 150 in problem solving, who scored in the 99th percentile in standardized testing, she is such a great example of a twice exceptional girl.
Such an honor to be the mother of such a daughter as this:)
Look what the Lord has done!! …:):)
Thank you so much!! For everything 💜

When there is a diagnosis that is feared, God opens a window of joy with her high IQ in problem solving. She is unique and has talents and assets in her life.

She is an amazing young woman and seeing how she’s promoted your book and taken the bull by the horn and getting things done, wow!!! You are an incredible team! You rock Stephanie and thank you for sharing a glimpse into your story. Hugs.
