
Marigold Skye’s eyelashes
tremble like
a bullet- flooded soldier as
she flips
through tea -stained
photos of
her grandmother back in 1963…her grandmother who
wears freedom FOR ALL in a
floral full -flowing
flag ….of
…..protest….
a photo
…falls….
….
carelessly onto
Marigold’s lap
and a young soldier
stares up
at her…his eyes
as wide as a puckered kiss… and it’s as though he is waiting…
…waiting….waiting…
…waiting for…
… dying… for
…..for someone …his lips
as red as
flags
